Hall 1 at FIBO: Longevity – a strategic success factor for the health, fitness, wellness & hospitality industries

Bar ohne Namen

FIBO 2026 makes one thing clearer than ever: longevity is not an isolated trend topic – it is a strategic framework that connects fitness, wellness, prevention, regeneration and hospitality. This becomes particularly evident in Hall 1, which positions itself as a central anchor point for holistic health and wellbeing concepts.

“For decision-makers from the fitness and hotel industries, Hall 1 offers a curated customer journey across all relevant facets of modern health offerings,” says Anke Brendt, Product Manager at FIBO, responsible for this development.

Longevity as a guiding thread – orientation instead of overload

Whether spa and wellness concepts, body & mind offerings, medical wellness or new forms of health positioning in hotels: longevity connects these topics into a coherent overall picture.

Around the high-profile Longevity in Hospitality Summit on 16 April 2026 in the Confex building at Koelnmesse, FIBO 2026 brings together in Hall 1 precisely those topics that are becoming increasingly important from an economic perspective for operators and management – strategically, conceptually and operationally.

The new Marketplace Longevity creates transparency: Which products, services and concepts are already market-ready? Where are new business models emerging? Which trends are more than short-term hype? Especially for hoteliers and fitness entrepreneurs looking to further develop their offerings, this exhibition area becomes a place for orientation – and for direct exchange with the relevant players.

Meeting Point Spa & Wellness: knowledge, exchange, practice

A central element of this development at FIBO is the Meeting Point Spa & Wellness, which sets different thematic priorities across several trade fair days. On Thursday and Sunday, the focus is on high-level expert presentations by exhibitors, showcasing concrete solutions and practical examples.

Friday is dedicated to Hotel Day, which focuses entirely on the future of health and wellness hospitality – including simultaneous translation via the Wordly app in more than 50 languages.

The partners of Hotel Day bring together expertise in a unique combination:

  • Huckenbeck Holistic Health – Sven Huckenbeck
  • German Medical Wellness Association (DMWV) – Lutz Lungwitz
  • German Longevity Society – Michael Altewischer

Sven Huckenbeck explains:
“FIBO has been connecting fitness and lifestyle factors for years in the context of a healthy way of living. On Hotel Day, hoteliers and health-oriented service providers gain valuable insights into the growing health market through comprehensive analyses, data and background information.”

Lutz Lungwitz, Chairman of the DMWV, adds:
“The Hospitality Day as part of FIBO 2026 clearly demonstrates how central the close integration of hospitality and health is for the future of the industry. Guests are viewed holistically as human beings.”

Michael Altewischer, Board Member of the German Longevity Society, summarizes:
“For me, longevity is not a short-term trend but a strategic positioning issue. Anyone who wants to understand how health, guest expectations and economic perspectives are changing should seek first-hand insights – and FIBO 2026 provides exactly the right framework for that.”

Thinking health in economic terms

The holistic view of a healthy lifestyle runs through the entire programme and makes it clear that longevity is not an add-on, but an integral part of modern hospitality concepts.

Sven Huckenbeck emphasizes:
“With the ‘guest in focus’ as the decisive factor for long-term success in wellness hospitality, we have brought together speakers and topics that make it possible to realistically assess opportunities and feasibility for the future.”

Hall 1 at FIBO 2026 therefore addresses not only visionaries, but entrepreneurs who want to integrate health into their businesses in a sustainable and economically viable way.

Thinking longevity strategically – perspectives for hoteliers

The high-quality, in-depth sessions of the Longevity in Hospitality Summit at FIBO 2026 (16 April 2026) further deepen these perspectives in the modern congress setting of the new Confex building at Koelnmesse.

The Longevity in Hospitality Summit at FIBO 2026 explores how hotels, resorts, and destinations can evolve from places of escape into engines of vitality. As longevity science meets guest experience, the opportunity for hospitality is vast — from nutrition-led F&B to recovery-driven fitness and sleep-optimized design.

The summit brings together hoteliers, scientists, investors, and innovators to explore one shared mission: extending not just the guest stay, but the guest’s lifespan.

Body & Mind, Spa Day and exclusive networking formats

The programme in Hall 1 is complemented by the Body & Mind Area, organized by the training academy IFAA GmbH, which has been active in the market for more than 40 years. It offers a broad, practice-oriented range of experiential formats focused on mental health, mindfulness and movement.

World of Spa

On Saturday, the Spa Day specifically targets spa managers and decision-makers from wellness hospitality, with an international perspective. It is organized by the idea lab of the SpaCamp organizers and the spa community around Wolfgang Falkner.

Additionally, spa managers are invited to an exclusive session on the Body & Mind Area on FIBO Saturday, followed by a complimentary breakfast in the Wellness Lounge.

A retreat for personal exchange

For background discussions and personal exchange, FIBO provides registered industry experts with exclusive access to the Wellness Lounge: a retreat and networking area for decision-makers from the wellness and hotel industries, featuring high-quality catering in a relaxed atmosphere.

Activ Hotel Award: visibility for outstanding concepts

A special highlight is the Aktiv Hotel Award, presented by Mein Tophotel on Friday, 17 April 2026, supported by FIBO and its media partner Tophotel. The award showcases how fitness, wellness and longevity can be successfully integrated into hotel concepts – setting impulses that extend far beyond the trade fair itself.

Conclusion: experience Hall 1 live – build networks, shape the future

Anke Brendt concludes: “Hall 1 at FIBO 2026 is not a place for superficial small talk, but the ideal platform for well-founded business decisions. Anyone who wants to understand how fitness, hospitality, wellness and longevity are interlinking now and in the future will find concentrated expertise, strong partners and, above all, the right personal encounters here.”

This applies in particular to the exclusive, high-level Longevity in Hospitality Summit, which takes place on Thursday, 16 April, in the highly modern FIBO Confex environment.

That is where the added value of FIBO lies: experiencing trends and developments live, comparing concepts and networking with the key players of the industry.
