From Wellness Trend to Business Driver: Longevity in Hospitality Summit 2026

Bar ohne Namen
The Longevity in Hospitality Summit will once again be a highlight at FIBO—more international, inspiring, and future-focused than ever before. This English-language summit, held at the Confex, will once again spotlight the key themes driving the global longevity boom: sleep, nutrition, exercise, recovery, mental health, and holistic well-being.
"FIBO has always been both a reflection and a driver of the most important trends and developments in the industry. With offerings like the Longevity in Hospitality Summit, we make these trends tangible for our visitors and provide them with access to new markets and revenue opportunities," explains Silke Frank, Event Director of FIBO, highlighting the significance of the summit.
With this initiative, FIBO underscores the significance of a market projected by UBS to grow to $8 trillion by 2030. For hoteliers, medical professionals, spa and wellness managers, as well as operators and investors, longevity offers new opportunities to profitably enhance guest experiences and strategically reposition their businesses.
“With the Longevity in Hospitality Summit, we demonstrate how hotels, resorts, and destinations can evolve from mere retreats into vitality hubs. When longevity research meets guest experiences, the hospitality industry gains immense opportunities—from nutrition-based concepts and recovery-focused fitness offerings to sleep-optimized design. The summit unites hoteliers, scientists, investors, and innovators with a shared mission: not just to extend guests’ stays but to enhance their lifespans,” explains Anke Brendt, Product Manager at FIBO and responsible for the summit, emphasizing its importance for the industry.
The summit will be guided by an international advisory board, including Judith Cartwright (Black Coral Consulting), Yves Preissler (Yves Preissler Consulting), Andrew Gibson (Andrew Gibson Advisory), and Franz Linser (Linser Hospitality)—all leading experts shaping the strategic direction of the event.
Mental Health as the Core of Hospitality’s Future
A highlight of the Longevity in Hospitality Summit 2026 is the keynote by Dr. Smith Johnston, Flight Surgeon/Aerospace Medicine at Timeshifter.NASA. His presentation will focus on mental health as a central expectation of modern guests. Under the title “The biggest opportunity in hospitality? Connecting space, people, and purpose into healing environments,” Dr. Johnston will explore how stress, burnout, and loneliness influence travel behavior and how hotels can transform into restorative spaces that promote psychological well-being and create long-term competitive advantages.

A Program That Combines Vision and Practical Implementation
The summit will bring together leading minds from hospitality, health, wellness, and investment to paint a clear picture of how longevity will transform the industry in the coming years. The opening keynote by Anna Bjurstam (Six Senses) will highlight the paradigm shift from traditional wellness to an integrated longevity ecosystem that accompanies the modern guest across all touchpoints and unlocks new revenue potential.
Through discussions and panels, attendees will discover how hotels can enhance their relevance with human performance concepts, personalized services, recovery-oriented design, and new membership models. Industry experts such as Stuart Greif (Forbes Travel Guide), Olivier Harnish (Lunasole Hospitality), Rosie Larson (Kerzner Intl.), Greg Payne, and others will showcase how sleep, nutrition, exercise, recovery, and social fitness can evolve into robust business models.
The summit will also feature practical insights from international properties: Lilian Roten (Design Journey/Swissôtel), Kyp Charalambous (Kerzner Intl.), and Jakob Fässler (Hotel Sonnenalp) will share exclusive experiences on implementing successful longevity concepts. Additionally, Susanna Søeberg (Soeberg Institute) will demonstrate how recovery applications, cold and heat therapy, and jet lag management can create measurable economic value. The event will conclude with a look at the global longevity economy and its potential at the intersection of hospitality, health, lifestyle, and investment, presented by Lindsay Madden-Nadeau (Red Sea Global).

A Day for Exchange, Inspiration, and Strong Connections
The summit turns inspiration into action. A particularly moving highlight will be an interview with Eva Schippers, a life expert with 97 years of experience, who will share her secret to aging with strength. Networking sessions, a shared lunch, and an exclusive evening dinner will provide opportunities for meaningful exchanges, new partnerships, and unforgettable shared experiences. Participants will also meet the winners of the Aktiv Hotel Award presented by MeinTophotel.
Longevity in the Exhibition Area: Hall 1 as an Innovation Hub
Next to the summit, Hall 1 at FIBO will once again become the center for longevity and hospitality innovations with exhibitors such as Gharieni and Wellness Space Brands. At the Longevity Market Place, companies such as NAD Clinic, Art of Cryo, and Image Skincare will showcase technologies and solutions that make longevity a holistic experience. A modular exhibition concept ensures diversity and flexibility. Additionally, the Meeting Point Spa & Wellness will offer an exciting program across all four days. On Thursday, exhibitors will highlight current trends, followed by engaging content for hoteliers on Friday. MeinTophotel will also present the Aktiv Hotel Award. Wolfgang Falkner and Keven Prünster have organized a diverse program for Spa Day on Saturday, with more exhibitors concluding the event on Sunday. The integrated Wellness Lounge will provide the perfect setting for networking among experts and discussions about the future of the industry.
FIBO makes it clear: longevity is not a fragment but a growing ecosystem that will sustainably shape the hospitality industry.
FIBO is supported by the following partners: 101 Besten, ahgz, Dehoga, Deutsche Longevity Gesellschaft, Deutsche Medical Wellness Verband, Deutscher Wellness Verband, Huckenbeck Holistic Health, Longevity Wellness Association, MeinTophotel, Spa Business, Spacamp, and Tophotel.
