Better health at every stage of life: FIBO 2027 puts women’s health in the spotlight

Bar ohne Namen

In 2027, FIBO will dedicate a hall to women’s health for the first time, bringing together training, nutrition, prevention, diagnostics and FemTech under one roof.

Women live longer than men on average, yet spend around 25% more of their lives in poor health, according to the World Economic Forum and the McKinsey Health Institute.¹ FIBO will address this gender health gap in 2027 with FIBO Women’s Health: a dedicated hall that brings together fitness, nutrition, medicine, technology and healthcare. Working with exhibitors and partners, FIBO aims to make knowledge more accessible, connect services and help narrow the gap.

Guided by the theme “Female Performance, Prevention & Longevity,” FIBO Women’s Health will explore health across women’s lives: from body awareness and movement to menstrual health, nutrition and reproductive health; and from pregnancy and recovery to menopause, muscle and bone health, and healthy ageing.

“Women’s health affects how freely women can shape their lives – at work, with their families and in pursuit of their personal goals. It must not be reduced to particular life stages or medical conditions,” says Silke Frank, Event Director of FIBO. “With FIBO Women’s Health, we are creating a place where knowledge, practical experience and different perspectives come together – and where individual offerings can grow into a connected community focused on women’s health throughout life.”

Every stage of life matters

What women need to support their health changes over time. At a younger age, body awareness, movement and a positive relationship with one’s body may take centre stage. Later, questions about the menstrual cycle, training, nutrition, performance, diagnostics and reproductive health may become more relevant. Pregnancy, motherhood and the period that follows are important for some women, but they do not define women’s health as a whole.

Perimenopause and menopause, sleep, stress and metabolism also deserve greater attention. As women grow older, muscle strength, bone health, mobility and balance become increasingly important to an active, independent life. FIBO’s new hall will make room for these perspectives and offer resources spanning women’s entire healthspan.

A place to learn, connect and exchange ideas

The new hall will be more than an exhibition space. At the heart of Hall 5.1, the Women’s Health Stage will showcase different aspects of women’s health across all four days of the event. Experts from science, medicine and professional associations will share the stage with businesses and creators. Exciting Panels, the popular Ladies Lunch and the presentation of the RX Female Award will round out the programme.

Visitors will be able to ask questions, discover solutions and speak directly with experts. Businesses will have the opportunity to place their offerings in a broader health context and connect with both industry professionals and the public.

FIBO Women’s Health is for everyone who helps shape women’s health: women themselves, as well as trainers, doctors, health service providers, buyers, employers, partners and family members. Together, they can put knowledge into practice and explore better approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

FIBO is working with The Collective and its co-founder Jennifer Halsall. The international community advocates for greater equality in women’s health and leadership. In 2027, the partners will build on their collaboration at the Women’s Leadership Summit with further initiatives.

A topic gaining momentum across Europe

Women’s health is attracting attention beyond the industry. In its Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030, the European Commission announced an initiative with the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve women’s health. It also plans to study the social and economic impact of the women’s health gap, including in relation to menopause.²

“With FIBO Women’s Health, we want to make women’s health more visible and better connected. The first exhibitors and partners can help shape this new platform from the outset, contribute their expertise and influence how the topic develops,” says Lucile Sannino, Senior Event Manager at FIBO and lead for FIBO Women’s Health.

The economic case is significant, too: according to the World Economic Forum and the McKinsey Health Institute, closing the gender health gap could add at least US$1 trillion a year to the global economy by 2040.

FIBO already brings together key players in the field. The most recent event welcomed 175,173 visitors from 136 countries and 1,015 exhibitors from 54 countries. More than half of its visitors were women.
