Festive, fulminant & elegant: Wellness Aphrodite awarded for the 20th time

Bar ohne Namen

It is considered one of the most coveted awards in the wellness industry: the Wellness Aphrodite. When Freizeit Verlag calls for the honouring of the best wellness hotels in German-speaking countries (based on the travel portal meintophotel.de), nominees, guests and the industry can look forward to a gala evening of superlatives. The Wellness Aphrodite was awarded for the 20th time this year and found a successful location for the anniversary gala in the WEISSENHAUS Private Nature Luxury Resort on the Baltic Sea.

Nine winners were chosen in the following categories in the banqueting hall in the Reetscheune:

  • Wellness Cuisine
  • Fitness & Sport
  • Beauty & Treatments
  • Logis
  • Spa-Design
  • Spa-Personality
  • Ecology
  • General concept
  • Brand new this year: Signature Treatments

Live performances were offered in the newly introduced category. The top three of the submitted applications performed their treatment for the jury consisting of Natalie Fischer-Nagel, Sven Huckenbeck and Jacqueline Schaffrath and only afterwards did the top-class jury vote for the winning treatment.

The expert jury for the Wellness Aphrodite brings together other industry experts and consists of our FIBO Product Manager Anke Brendt, TV chef Christian Henze, Professor Dr. Marco Gardini, Bavarian Centre for Tourism and Professor of International Hospitality Management and Marketing at the Faculty of Tourism at Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Sven Huckenbeck, Spa Director at König Ludwig Inspiration Spa as well as Publishing Director Jan Peter Kruse, Editor-in-Chief of the trade magazines Tophotel and Hotel+Technik Brit Glocke and Jacqueline Schaffrath, Head of Hotelguides Mein Tophotel.

Stefan Beer, head chef at the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa in Interlaken, is delighted with the award in the category 'Wellness Cuisine'. His concept is particularly convincing with regionality and sustainability, which extends from the food to the restaurant equipment.

With the latest hardware such as ICAROS, Powerswim facility and individual boxing towers as well as sound practical knowledge of the team, the 5-star wellness hotel Jagdhof convinced in the category 'Fitness & Sport'. The offers range from physical to mental fitness.

The Seezeit Spa of the Seezeitlodge is pleased to have received the Wellness Aphrodite in the category 'Beauty & Treatments'. The treatments and rituals offered are always in harmony with nature and go back to the Celtic cultural history of the region around Lake Bostal.

"A spa with a unique wow effect" is what the jury calls the winner of the 'Spa Design': the Quellenhof See Lodge. Opened only a year ago, the spa on three floors impresses with its own spring, indoor & outdoor pools, Finnish event sauna and access to the largest bathing lake in Tyrol, including islands for living.

The hosts, the WEISSENHAUS Private Nature Luxury Resort, received an award in the category 'Logis'. Elegant accommodation units around the historic castle cover the 75-hectare site. Another highlight is the new Weissenhaus Signature Villa with a view of the village centre and 1000 sqm of private outdoor space with saunas and jacuzzis.

The 'people in the cabin' are the focus of the 'Signature Treatment' category, which was awarded for the first time. With her live performance of the Zirben Vital Massage, Kristina Tanushi from the Weitblick in Allgäu creates a true experience and was delighted to receive the first Wellness Aphrodite.

Mario Tumler, head of the Alpine SPA at the Panoramahotel Oberjoch, can now call himself 'Spa Personality'. His nature-loving treatments with a focus on mindfulness and sustainability bring people to themselves and to vitality. In addition, the jury noted his desire for further and advanced training and his talent for motivational management of his team.

Green in all respects and now also award-winning is the FONTIS luxury spa lodge in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dolomites. With sustainable construction, home-grown food through ECO farming, a geothermal system and an organic bathing lake made from pure mountain spring water, the ecological concept is convincing and receives the Wellness Aphrodite in the category 'Ecology/Sustainability'.

The award winner in the category 'Overall Concept' also comes from the Dolomites. The Naturhotel Pfösl takes sustainability seriously and implements it with perseverance in all areas of hotel management. Guests can expect natural cosmetics in the spa, local food in the kitchen, activities in nature and accommodation in a modern design implemented with natural materials.

The final presentation of the jury's special award 'Exceptional - Tradition & Vision' was met with a standing ovation. The award went to Elisabeth Gürtler of the luxury hotel brand Sacher Vienna, Salzburg and Seefeld-Tyrol.
