More service and more offers for trade visitors: The new FIBO Business Weekend
Business Weekend at FIBO
Visiting FIBO as a trade visitor over the weekend? The new FIBO Business Weekend will make it even easier and attractive for you to do so at FIBO 2019. After all, there will also be a plethora of events on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 April complementing the ranges on display in the halls – be it the first AXA Start-Up Pitch at FIBO, the DSSV Start-Up Seminar or differently themed Guided Tours.
As a service there will be Fast Lanes at the Süd and Nord entrances to grant speedy access to club operators, physiotherapists, distributors and trainers. On top of this, a limited number of parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of Koelnmesse will be reserved for trade visitors.
DSSV – Start-Up Seminar
On Friday and Saturday DSSV will organise two seminars each on starting a business, securing its survival and succession planning. DSSV’s Start-Up Seminar provides people interested in starting up a business and operators with the necessary gear to rise to the challenges of establishing a new business or taking over an existing one successfully in the long term. In addition to valuable information participants will get useful hands-on tips from experienced industry and start-up experts. www.fibo.com/dssv-seminar
2019 will see the GluckerKolleg again offer all interested visitors an ideal opportunity to learn about the latest trends in EMS. Themes include the latest scientific insights, the new DIN standard, EMS for senior citizens, the use of EMS for back problems, or EMS in competition sports. The EMS Symposium will be held at Congress-Centrum Nord on the Saturday of FIBO. www.fibo.com/ems-symposium

On the weekend the “Physio” tour will start at 10.00 am, on Saturday the “Hotel & Wellness” tour at 12 noon, the “Group Fitness” tour at 11.00 am and the “Cardio & Strength” tour at 2.00 pm. On Sunday the “Start-up” theme will feature on the agenda at 11.00 am. Visitors can register online for these tours at www.fibo.com/guidedtours.
New Business and Start-Up Pitch
Start ups are one of the focus themes of FIBO 2019. FIBO promotes young entrepreneurs with a special area and numerous expert lectures. In cooperation with the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control, the German Franchise Association and the AXA Startup Center, the New Business Area shows what successful start-ups look like, which first steps to take and what a good business plan should look like on all four trade show days.
And the Sunday at FIBO will see the AXA Startup Center organise its own pitch. Wanted: the best start-up at FIBO 2019.
Winners receive a stand space in the New Business Area of FIBO 2020 and will be allowed to compete for the Kitchen Pitch finals of the AXA Start-Up Center. The pitches will be presented in a relaxed atmosphere while cooking. Finalists stand a big chance of participating in the AXA Accelerator Programme with a start-up bootcamp, personal coaching and a workplace at the Factory Campus in Düsseldorf. kitchenpitch.de/kitchenpitch-fibo-2019
From 2019 the FIBO CAMPUS will be the backbone of our continuous education programme and will also offer a comprehensive agenda for trade visitors on Saturday. It especially targets club operators and executives, physiotherapists, instructors and personal trainers. The new FIBO CAMPUS combines the well-known “FIBO Academy” and the congress programme. For the first time visitors will be able to put together their personal schedules on just one ticket. The Campus will be held on three days (Thursday to Saturday) at Congress-Centrum Ost. www.fibo.de/campus
Trade visitors will also be in for a packed programme on the weekend at the Meetingpoint Physio in Hall 7. This is where physiotherapists, sports physicians, trainers and club operators meet. There will be talks here on legislation governing physiotherapy, customer recruitment, fitness at the physiotherapy practice, stress management and taping at the practice, to name but a few themes.
FIBO is the world’s largest international trade show for fitness, wellness and health: the industry’s key players come together here in Cologne. This is where innovations are launched. This is where international trends are set. This is where the industry comes to invest. 1,133 companies participated in 2018, meeting over 143,000 trade and private visitors from 120 countries. FIBO is scheduled to take place at the Exhibition Centre in Cologne from 4 to 7 April in 2019. Kicking off the trade show on 3 April will be the 6th European Health & Fitness Forum, expected to attract 400 leading representatives from the European fitness sector.
