FIBO USA to premiere this year

With 57.2 million members in 36,540 gyms and sales of approximately $27.6 billion, the US is the largest fitness market worldwide. Numerous leading fitness industry manufacturers and suppliers are located here. Many of the new concepts and global trends originate here. The goal is for FIBO USA to become the new “must-attend event” in the USA, the place where providers of fitness equipment and concepts meet with health, fitness and wellness professionals from the private and public sectors.
FIBO USA is organized by Reed Exhibitions USA in collaboration with Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, the organizer of FIBO in Cologne. Says Hervé Sedky, President of Reed Exhibitions, The Americas: “Our team has spoken with numerous health facilities and fitness studios and we have affirmed the value of this project. There is a need for an all-encompassing fitness show in the USA that includes every sector of the industry. The first companies have confirmed their participation.” Keiser Corporation, ZIVA USA, MYZONE Limited and True Fitness Technology, for example, will participate in the debut event in December to present their innovations to the US market.
Target groups and concept
In addition to the classic gym business, the US market is very important for suppliers of exercise equipment and concepts in the private and public sectors. About 50 percent of sales, for example, are generated at country clubs and public institutions such as universities. Accordingly, FIBO USA is specifically targeted at trade visitors from fitness studios and health and wellness facilities, trainers and instructors, country clubs and hotels as well as at buyers from public-sector institutions such as schools, universities, the military and large retail buyers. As a B2B and B2C event, it – like FIBO in Germany – is open to fitness professionals and fitness fans alike. Taking place annually at alternating locations, FIBO USA is gearing up to reach an even greater number of market participants.
The goal is to bring a wide variety of the themes covered by the international fitness sector at FIBO in Cologne to the US: new equipment and innovative concepts for training styles such as Cardio & Strength, EMS & Vibration, Group & Aqua Fitness and Functional Training plus new products and services in key fields such as Sports Nutrition, Fashion and Interior design.

The clear focus of FIBO USA is on business. As an ordering event, the show is well-positioned to become a valuable business platform in the US market. What’s more, the trends and topics will be presented to visitors in a wide range of different formats, including a stage and educational program called “The American Health and Fitness Forum” – a high-calibre congress agenda modelled after the EHFF in Cologne is being planned in cooperation with the International FIBO Ambassador, Herman Rutgers. Thought provoking presentations from around the world with new ideas for sales, marketing, customer relationship management, digitalization, retention, customer behaviour and human resources are announced. The aim is to bring together US CEOs, managers and experts to enable them to jointly develop the industry even further.
From Cologne to Shanghai and Johannesburg to the United States: FIBO is expanding its global activities and establishing a direct presence in the target markets. FIBO in Cologne, the Leading International Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and Health, draws about 1,000 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors to Germany each year. This is where innovations are launched. This is where international trends are set. This is where the industry comes to invest. FIBO China has been the central meeting place of the Asian fitness industry since 2014. The first FIBO FITNESS BUSINESS SUMMIT SOUTH AFRICA in Johannesburg was added in 2017. FIBO USA will be launched in 2018.
