FIBO 2018: These power stars will be there
FIBO 2018 Power Stars
Strength, willpower and aesthetics – that’s what the athletes in FIBO’s POWER segment stand for. Bodybuilding and weight training stars from every corner of the globe will get together at the world’s largest fitness trade show from 12 to 15 April. It’s the perfect opportunity for all fans and up-and-coming athletes to experience their idols live. Here’s an initial preview.
FIBO has been a fixture on bodybuilder and World Master Trainer Ulisses Jr.’s calendar for years. Having intensively steeled and defined his body for more than 20 years, the native New Yorker says he doesn’t have a favourite workout. “I exercise all body regions equally”, proclaims the two-time Musclemania World Pro Champion. “That’s how I’ve been doing it for years.” Ulisses Jr. will be at the Biotech stand in Hall 10.2 on every one of FIBO’s show days. Fans can also meet IFBB Bikini Pro athlete and fitness model Stephanie Davies from Austria there. IFBB Bikini Pro athlete and fitness model Christina Varga from the US will be a guest at Scitec’s stand in Hall 10.2.
Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?
To many, Dennis Wolf is one of the world’s best bodybuilders. In 2014, he was the first German to win the Arnold Classic. “Success comes with the right attitude”, says the 39-year-old, who now also works as a coach. Experience “Big Bad Wolf”, as he calls himself, live at the Amix stand in Hall 10.2 on Saturday and Sunday. One of Dennis Wolf’s avowed fans, by the way, is Mathias Botthoff. The IFBB Pro, who celebrated his biggest success in sports when he won the overall category in the 2011 Arnold Classic Amateur, will be at FIBO 2018 together with Markus Rühl and Dennis “The Menace” James to welcome all bodybuilding fans at the Allstars stand in Hall 10.1.
The world’s tallest bodybuilder
Towering at a height of 2.18 metres – nearly 7 feet and 2 inches – he makes everyone else look small: Olivier Richters from the Netherlands is the world’s tallest bodybuilder. “Training has changed my life”, says the athlete and entrepreneur known as “The Dutch Giant” who, despite his height, never used to make it past 90 kilogrammes, or just under 200 pounds, in weight. Fans of Olivier Richter’s – who now weighs in at 150 kilogrammes or 330 pounds – will be able to meet him at the QNT stand in Hall 10.1.
David “The Hoff” Hoffmann will grace Weider’s stand in Hall 10.2 with his presence this year. The IFBB Pro and overall heavyweight winner of the 2015 Mr. Olympia Amateur competition started training when he was just 15. He’s considered one of the most successful German bodybuilders. The former Royal Marine and bodybuilder Lewis Harrison, known for mixing up the UK bodybuilding scene alongside his twin brother Owen, will also attend FIBO, appearing at the Fitmart stand on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoon.
