All exhibition halls of Koelnmesse are equipped with modern ventilation systems. The supply air is supplied fresh from outside in a duct system that is separate from the exhaust air. The used exhaust air is discharged separately to the outside, so that aerosols cannot spread through our ventilation systems.
Admission to the exhibition grounds is only permitted with mouth-and-nose protection! Please note this in advance of your FIBO participation. Mouth and nose protection masks and disinfectants can be purchased in the Koelnmesse Shops on the trade fair grounds for a fee. We recommend that all exhibitors provide themselves with sufficient quantities of mouth-and-nose protection masks and disinfectants to avoid possible bottlenecks.
The obligation to comply with this is the responsibility of the organiser/terrain operator in the publicly accessible areas of the exhibition grounds and the stand operator at the exhibition stand. In the event of non-compliance with the generally applicable regulations of the CoronaSchVO, the organiser (or a service provider commissioned by the organiser) will take appropriate measures for the publicly accessible areas, or will ask the respective stand operator to ensure compliance with the regulations of the CoronaSchVO. In the event of non-compliance, the Organiser reserves the right to take further measures, which may lead to the closure of the stand area if necessary. In addition, official controls are to be expected.
The documents relating to the hygiene and protection concept of the respective stand areas, as well as evidence of the BMAS (Berufsgenossenschaften, employers' liability insurance associations) occupational health and safety standards must be kept available. The stand operator and/or the client must instruct the stand construction and/or assembly and dismantling personnel accordingly. Instruction templates are available from the respective responsible accident insurance institution (professional association), usually on their websites. The documentation of instructions is to be kept by the respective employer and presented at (official) inspections. In the event of non-compliance, the local health authority may order the stand area to be closed.
During the assembly/disassembly phase, the general requirements of occupational health and safety apply. The usual obligations to carry out a risk assessment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the general obligations to provide instruction also apply here. General measures during assembly/disassembly include the provision of disinfectants and the obligation to wear mouth and nose protection if the minimum distances cannot be maintained during the work. More detailed information can be found on the website of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (www.baua.de; SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Safety and Health Rules). In general, stand constructors are also required to register in advance or on arrival at the exhibition centre. Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH or a service provider commissioned by it will provide a system for this purpose. Entry and exit to and from the exhibition site will be controlled in order to guarantee the traceability required by the authorities. Independently of and in addition to this - for reasons of occupational health and safety - each stand constructor is obliged to be able to provide the presence for the purpose of traceability (persons, attendance times, accessibility).
No, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH has no plans to do so. The number of persons permitted on the exhibition site (total capacity) was determined in advance in accordance with the CoronaSchVO and approved by the authorities. Suitable measures have already been taken during the planning of the event (e.g. adjustment of aisle widths) to meet the requirements for the required minimum distance. In this context, it should also be taken into account that information booths, seating groups and/or presentations directly in the aisle are only possible to a limited extent and should therefore be moved into the stand by the required minimum distance.
Yes, all exhibitors, visitors, service providers, Koelnmesse employees, other partners and employees of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH will receive a personalised ticket or access authorisation as part of a full registration. If necessary, the ticket or access authorisation will be compared with an official identification document when entering the exhibition grounds and/or the event.
During assembly and dismantling, checks will only be carried out at the access roads to the site. During the trade fair there will be checks on entering and exiting the grounds (entrances, exhibitor entrances to the halls). Irrespective of this, random checks of tickets or access authorisation with an official identification document will be carried out throughout the entire site.
The CoronaSchutzVO provides for the general obligation to wear a mouth and nose protector at trade fairs. Under certain conditions, the mouth-and-nose protector can be removed at seating positions (e.g. at the exhibition stand or in the catering trade or outdoors), provided that the required minimum distances are observed or equivalent measures are taken to achieve the protection objective of maintaining distance. According to current medical assessment, full or partial face shields are not a substitute for mouth and nose protection, as aerosols are only partially retained. Visibility visors are therefore only permitted in tested individual cases (e.g. in the case of demonstrable health problems of the wearer in the case of mouth-nose protection or product presentations that require regular removal and application of the mouth-nose protection on a permanent basis).
The general regulation of the CoronaSchVO applies, i.e. that entering the exhibition grounds with relevant symptoms of illness (in particular cold symptoms, diarrhoea, lack of taste) is not permitted. This is pointed out at the entrances and during the online ticketing process.
If a suspected case or cold symptoms occur, the medical centre on the premises must be contacted immediately. Qualified medical care is available there. Please note that such cases must be reported. If a suspected case of corona is confirmed there, it will be passed on to the nearest hospital to check the suspicion (testing). If this is confirmed, the contact points would be traced in cooperation with the public health department.
No, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH does not carry out temperature screening of exhibitors or visitors at the entrance. The general regulation of the CoronaSchVO applies, i.e. that entering the exhibition grounds with relevant symptoms (in particular cold symptoms, coughing, diarrhoea, lack of taste) is not permitted. This will be indicated in the entrances and during the online ticketing process.
Our partner, Koelnmesse, is currently in intensive discussions about establishing a rapid test facility. However, due to the fact that there are still open points of clarification throughout Germany, we are not able to make a more precise statement here at the moment. In the event of a suspected case, a test would therefore be initiated via a hospital by the medical personnel responsible on site.
In order to maintain the necessary minimum distance of 1.5 m and to implement the recommendations and specifications for stand construction, we recommend a minimum stand size of currently at least 16 m². The FIBO Sales Team will be happy to advise you on the selection of a suitable stand.
There is no obligation to do so, but ideally the stand area should be designed as open as possible, so that superstructures and installations on the stand are minimised, thus maximising the freely accessible area for visitors. If necessary, plan separate entrances and exits and/or targeted routing to avoid "unnecessary encounters" in confined areas of the stand.
Queues should be avoided, as the aisles are usually purely movement areas and have been adapted by the organiser during the planning phase. It is therefore also recommended that high traffic areas, such as counters or stages, are moved into the stand. Accompanying measures (e.g. appointments with customers) can also be used as a supplement. Should queues nevertheless be observed in the aisles, which lead to restrictions on movement, Reed Exhibtion Deutschland GmbH or a service provider commissioned by Reed Exhibtion Deutschland GmbH will take regulatory action if necessary.
Around your exhibits, the open spaces must be adjusted so that the minimum distance of 1.50 m can be maintained. The exhibits should not be placed directly at the edge of the stand towards the aisle to prevent interested visitors from standing still in the aisle. Here too, it is advisable to move the exhibits 1.50 m from the aisle into the stand.
Meeting rooms may be furnished normally. With regard to seating, care must be taken to ensure that either the generally applicable minimum distance of 1.50 m can be maintained when sitting. Alternatively, screens, such as screens on tables or screens between tables, can be used if the minimum distance cannot be maintained. The elements must be provided from approx. 50 cm to above head height (approx. 2.50 m). The meeting rooms must not be closed at the top to ensure adequate ventilation. Textile ceiling elements are also not permitted.
In the case of seating groups, care must be taken to ensure that either the generally applicable minimum distance of 1.50 m is maintained when sitting or to different seating groups. Alternatively, screens, such as screens on tables or screens between tables, can be used if the minimum distance cannot be maintained. The elements must be provided from approx. 50 cm to above head height (approx. 2.50 m).
The number of persons allowed depends on the size of the stand and the individual furnishings of the stand and the resulting freely accessible area of the stand. It is therefore difficult to make a general statement without considering the exact stand concept. In essence, the freely accessible stand area is decisive for the calculation and the number of available seats for supplementary seats/meeting places. For the calculation of the maximum number of persons, 1 person per 4 m² of freely accessible space can be roughly assumed in the first instance. Please note that the maximum number of persons on the stand must be regulated by appropriate measures.
The usual minimum distance regulations apply to persons on the stand. According to these regulations, it must be ensured that a minimum distance of 1.50 m between persons can be maintained everywhere. These distances can be reduced by additional measures which guarantee the protection objective of maintaining the distance (e.g. use of shielding such as Plexiglas panels at seats of sufficient height/width).
The same regulations apply as for business premises. Since regular disinfection of e.g. exhibited equipment or products of any kind cannot be ensured, personal hygiene plays a special role. For this reason, disinfection facilities must be provided for visitors at exhibition stands. For wipeable surfaces and surfaces that are regularly touched, regular cleaning (e.g. once or twice an hour) is also recommended. At conference tables or tables with food distribution after the groups of people have changed.
We recommend that you clean particularly contact-intensive surfaces (e.g. conference tables, tables with food/beverage dispensers) at high frequency (after each use). Less stressed and wipeable surfaces can be cleaned at lower frequency (e.g. one to two hourly cleaning). Personal hygiene plays a special role here. For this reason, disinfection facilities for visitors and stand personnel must be provided at the exhibition stands.
We recommend that brochures be handed out by stand personnel and that they not be taken out on their own, as this would create too many contact points. Give-aways should also be actively distributed by stand personnel and not be made available in chutes to avoid putting back products that have already been touched several times.
It is possible to hand them out via the stand personnel. A supplementary alternative could be, for example, QR codes which can be scanned without contact and offer the possibility of downloading files.
There are no objections to the exchange of business cards, as only two different people are affected. This applies as long as the stand personnel observe regular hand hygiene (e.g. regular hand washing) and visitors are offered disinfection facilities at the stand.
The general hygiene requirements apply (distance regulation, mouth-nose protection). In addition, visitors and stand personnel must be provided with facilities for hand disinfection (e.g. disinfectant dispensers). We recommend cleaning particularly contact-intensive and wipeable surfaces (e.g. conference tables, tables with food/beverage dispensers) at high frequency (e.g. after each use). Less stressed and wipeable surfaces can be cleaned at lower frequency (e.g. one to two hourly cleaning). Personal hygiene plays a special role here (disinfection possibilities for visitors and stand personnel at the exhibition stand).
For the protection of all trade show participants, everyone at FIBO is obliged to wear a mouth-and-nose mask. The mouth-and-nose protector can be taken off at seating areas (e.g. at conference tables on exhibition stands or in the catering trade) or in the outdoor area, as long as the distance regulations to different and unrelated persons (groups) are observed. If it is not possible to guarantee the required minimum distance, the groups of persons must be registered and the visits documented. Mouth and nose protection masks can be purchased for a fee (as well as disinfectants) in the Koelnmesse Shops on the exhibition grounds. However, we recommend that all exhibitors provide themselves with sufficient masks and disinfectants.
A communal cloakroom is possible. SARS-CoV-2 viruses are primarily transmitted via the respiratory tract. Transmission by smear infection via surfaces that have recently been contaminated with viruses is theoretically possible. However, there is currently no strong evidence that the virus is transmitted by contact with contaminated objects or via contaminated surfaces, which would have led to subsequent human infections. In the retail trade for clothing goods there are therefore no separate regulations for the goods on display and tried on. It should be noted that when trying on a dress
Irrespective of the regulations listed below on infection protection, the regulations on food hygiene and food safety must be observed. Catering areas and kitchens must be planned in accordance with the applicable CoronaSchVO of the State of NRW for the catering industry. Tasting sessions at the exhibition stand are permitted and can be held either as part of a meeting at a table or as a sampling session at the information counter in compliance with the hygiene regulations. The products must be handed out by stand personnel in compliance with all hygiene regulations. Both packaged and unpackaged taste samples may be handed out. Self-service (e.g. from a tray with several samples) is not permitted, not even in the case of packaged samples. In this context, please also take into account the hygiene requirements on the table surfaces (regular wiping after changing guests).
Irrespective of the regulations listed below on infection protection, the regulations on food hygiene and food safety must be observed. Catering areas and kitchens must be planned in accordance with the applicable CoronaSchVO of the state of NRW for the catering industry. The operation of show kitchens is permitted if the cooking/preparation takes place behind a spit guard. The prepared food may be handed out by stand personnel to visitors to the show. The products must be handed out by stand personnel in compliance with all hygiene regulations. Both packaged and unpackaged samples of taste may be handed out. Self-service (e.g. from a tray containing several samples) is not permitted, not even in the case of packaged samples.
