Supplements, nutrition, fashion and training: FIBO POWER for professionals
FIBO POWER 2017
What are the issues that move the industry? Which nutritional concepts are popular in bodybuilding and weight training? Which types of workouts is everyone talking about right now? Trade visitors will get a comprehensive overview of the market for supplements and nutrition, plus fashion.
To kick things off, however, the stages will remain dark on Thursday and Friday. No official FIBO POWER competitions or shows will be held on those days. And the noise level will remain lowered at the exhibitors’ stands on those days, as well. These quieter hours thus offer the ideal setting for business talks. In addition, from noon to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday, Silent Slots will be offered for trade visitors attending the show on the weekend.
Be it bodybuilding, power sports or martial arts – top athletes will again show off their skills at FIBO. A classic at FIBO POWER is the bikini contest presented by the German Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (DBFV e.V.). On 14 and 15 April, the DBFV e.V. FIBO Bikini Cup and the DBFV e.V. FIBO Men’s Physique Cup will be held on the FIBO POWER Stage in Hall 10.1. Another highlight is Miss FIBO POWER Beauty presented by Ironmaxx, which on Saturday will pit newcomers and amateurs against each other.
New in 2018: the Sportmodel CUP, organised by the German Federation of Doping-Free Bodybuilders and Power Athletes (BDBK) and the German Fitness and Fitness Model Association (DFFV). Then, female and male sports models alike will compete in the respective categories on FIBO Sunday.
A high point in the power sports segment is the Strongest Benchpresser at 4 pm on Saturday. Europe’s strongest RAW bench pressers will do battle in an exhilarating competition. Dr. Bein’s POWERlifting Challenge will take place on the stage in Hall 10.1 on Saturday and Sunday morning. The athletes will compete in the categories Squats, Deadlifts and Bench Press. Another highlight is the Collateral Damage Cup at 3 pm on Saturday, 14 April.
A fixture at FIBO POWER are the strongmen. The Strongman Area in Hall 10.1 will be the site of the FIBO Strongman ClassX Champions League on Saturday and the FIBO POWER Deutschland Cup for newcomers on Sunday.
In the martial arts segment, visitors can look forward again to the Mas Wrestling Competition, which will take place on the FIBO Power Stage in Hall 10.1 on Sunday morning.
Nutrition in focus
The right nutrition and the right supplementation are key components of success in bodybuilding and weight training. Altogether, about 200 of the more than 1,000 FIBO exhibitors from across Europe, Asia, the US and New Zealand will present the nutrition trends of the year. There will be two hubs for trade visitors: the new Sports Nutrition Area in Hall 4.2 will provide a quick overview of the topic in a compact area. About 50 key players and newcomers will present their new fitness and lifestyle products here – including Orthomol, Ovobest, Calory Coach and Dr. Goerg. They’re the perfect complement to the nutritional offerings in the Power segment, where some 150 companies like HEJ Natural, Women’s Best, Rocka Nutrition, Energy Cake and fittaste will be showcasing supplements for performance and health. Aimed at anyone in need of some inspiration on how to integrate supplements and superfoods into everyday cooking, the new FIBO Cooking Area in Hall 10.2 will for the first time feature live cooking shows focussed on healthy nutrition.
It’s the world’s largest international trade show for fitness, wellness and health: the industry’s key players come together at FIBO in Cologne. This is where innovations are launched. This is where international trends are set. This is where the industry comes to invest. Some 1,019 companies from 49 nations participated in 2017, meeting more than 150,000 trade and private visitors from around the globe. In 2018, FIBO will take place at the Exhibition Centre Cologne from 12 to 15 April. Kicking off the trade show on 11 April 2018 will be the 5th European Health & Fitness Forum, a meeting of about 400 leading representatives of the European fitness sector.
