It's going to be sporty and big: FIBO 2023 is kicking off
From today until 16 April, the Cologne exhibition halls will once again be dedicated to fitness and health. At FIBO, the world's largest trade show for fitness, wellness and health, there will be plenty for sports enthusiasts and health-conscious people to discover for four days: from the latest fitness trends and product innovations in nutrition and fashion to modern training equipment. FIBO attracts visitors with an impressive live programme and well-known personalities from the fitness scene.
Get a taste for it: Fitness Lifestyle & Nutrition
As always, the FIBO halls are divided according to thematic focal points. In Hall 4.2, visitors can discover and try out innovations in the fields of nutrition, fashion and beauty. On the stage of the Lifestyle Area, exciting impulse lectures and interviews will take place on all four days of the show, where visitors can learn more about topics such as "Healthy weight loss without the yo-yo effect" by Julius Ilse. In addition, Mona Witt, among others, will take a closer look at the dormant metabolism and Marie Luise Fischer will give tips on how to successfully fight cravings.
In addition to food for the brain, there will also be delicious and healthy dishes to taste, which the experts will prepare on site. The topics of nutrition, metabolic disorders, muscle building and fat loss will also be given the stage they deserve on the POWER Stage in Hall 10.2. Here, for example, Dr. Martina Ollesch and Dipl. oec. Troph. Andreas Scholz will pass on their expert knowledge to the audience during the FIBO POWER Talks.
FIBO unites fitness stars with their fans
As every year, the Who's Who of the international bodybuilding and fitness scene meet at FIBO. Athletes such as Jay Cutler, Dunja Bitar, Phil Heath, Urs Kalecinski, Tim Budesheim, David Hoffmann and Jeanne Kassel are already looking forward to signing autographs and taking souvenir photos with their community at Meet & Greets. In Hall 10.2 there will also be bodybuilding competitions by Strongman athletes, special seminars on trade visitor days and competitions on the weekend. A highlight this year: the Panatta FIBO Contest. In cooperation with NPC Italy and NPC Germany, the Pro Qualifier signed by Panatta and NPC will take place on 15 and 16 April in Hall 10.1. The overall winners can win 9 pro cards and become part of the IFBB PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE. The competition promises exciting scenes for all visitors.
Personal moments are promised by the many influencers of the scene and other well-known personalities who will not miss the fitness event of the year, such as Stefanie Davis, Ralf Moeller, Uwe Schüder ("flyinguwe"); Elli Haschke ("elli_hoop"), Stefan Weissgerber ("coachstef_") and Lisa del Piero.
After a long break, Sophia Thiel will finally be part of FIBO again: at a stage talk, the fitness influencer will give private insights and share her experiences on the subject of mental health with the audience. Mental health is also the topic of Cathy Hummels' talk. Here she talks openly and personally about the way out of her depression.
Anna Engelschall from the channel "growingannanas" will also get her community sweating with a rousing workout on the Group Fitness Stage. On top of that, there will be an interactive cooking show with her, where she will demonstrate her cooking skills.

A programme that makes the heart beat faster
The Group Fitness Stage in Hall 5.2 is a place to be with a varied programme and plenty of inspiration for workouts and training methods. For example, on Friday morning trade visitors can really work out at the Cycling Convention by Pure Emotion. Other programme highlights will also get visitors' pulses racing: for example, they can experience and try out the latest trends from the disciplines of Step & Dance, Hola Hoop, Functional Training and Aerobics.
Things get more relaxed in the Body & Mind Area, in Hall 8, where there are join-in offers for Pilates and yoga sessions. Among others, the German Pilates Association will be showing the latest yoga and Pilates exercises, and FIBO expert Petra Orzech will be devoting special attention to women in the menopause developing their inner attitude and identity and how yoga can support this.
Ready for the trend challenge of the year?
With HYROX, this year's fitness fair is also bringing the biggest fitness trend of the year to the Cologne exhibition halls: one of the most challenging fitness challenges in the world. The actual fitness training becomes a competition, which leads to more motivation, easier routines and better health.
At FIBO, visitors can take on this challenge: Here, eight one-kilometre runs have to be completed, between each of which a workout station with typical exercises from the fields of functional training, crossfit and athletic training has to be mastered in a high-intensity interval training (HIIT). The beaming winners will be those who get through the course of ski ergometer, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jump, rowing ergometer, kettleball farmer carry, sandbag lunches and wall balls the fastest.
Never seen before: FIBO combines gaming and fitness for the first time
FIBO is convinced: fitness and gaming are not mutually exclusive - quite the opposite! They inevitably belong together. This year, the fitness trade show also wants to make this clear with its own hotspot, where gamers can present themselves and their e-sports and meet their community. In this way, FIBO is creating a new format for a whole new community.
The new Gaming & Activity Area is located in Hall 5.2: here gaming fans can watch their idols in action during ingame sessions or compete with them in competitions. There will also be expert knowledge about e-sports: in exciting panel talks and coaching sessions, experts will explain, for example, how physical and mental fitness can increase the overall performance of gamers and e-sportsmen. Visitors can also get active themselves and try out the latest trends in mixed reality sports.
