Charity Cycling @ FIBO 2022: World's leading trade show increases donation amount
Combining sports with a good cause? Always a great idea! At FIBO in Hall 5.2, the Sports for Charity Foundation and the Blue Helmets Club invited people to ride their bikes together. Kilometers and donations were collected for a good cause. Now FIBO has increased the donation so that a total of 6480 euros will benefit children with cancer.
On all four days of the trade show, a total of 97 blue light athletes pedaled. The comrades of the police, fire department, THW, DLRG and the German Armed Forces together covered a proud 3169.73 kilometers in 13 hours and thus collected donations amounting to 3980 euros. The campaign not only drew attention to the issue of "No violence against rescue workers", every kilometer also supports projects for children with cancer or serious illnesses and disadvantaged children.

Now FIBO has increased the donation amount by another 2500 euros. Event Director Silke Frank: "Fitness is a lifestyle that above all brings people together. As the world's largest trade show for fitness, wellness and health, FIBO is a shared experience, an exchange, a mutual motivation and commitment to a healthy life. That's why it's especially close to our hearts to support projects for sick, disadvantaged children. Charity Cycling was a great action, which we will continue at the next fair."
Laura Voß, Co-Founder of Sports for Charity, is also enthusiastic about the joint action: "We look back with joy on four great, exciting and eventful trade show days at FIBO 2022. It was incredibly fun to be part of this vibrant trade show after two difficult pandemic years. Many thanks to FIBO for the opportunity to plan a charity event. With this support and the cooperation with the blue helmet club, we succeeded in creating and organizing an unforgettable trade show highlight. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all supporters and especially FIBO for the generous donations and of course our participants for their sporting commitment. In the end, we can report an incredible donation total of 6480€, which will now benefit disadvantaged children with severe illnesses and cancer."
By the way, the next FIBO will take place from April 13 to 16 in Cologne. Then it's once again: "Get on your bikes and collect kilometers for a good cause!"
